Tara Earnshaw is CRI’s new Communications Specialist – a designer, strategist, and facilitator with a deep curiosity for making big ideas clear, actionable, and human. With an Honours Bachelor of Design in Communication and over 20 years of experience in brand-building and visual storytelling, she works at the intersection of systems thinking, design, and cross-sector collaboration – turning complexity into communications that move people and motivate change.

At CanAdapt and the Climate Risk Institute, Tara helps bring climate adaptation to life through thoughtful design and messaging that build connection and drive impact. Whether crafting a logo, guiding a design sprint, or shaping a national campaign, her work bridges ideas, visuals, and voices to build momentum where it matters most.

She lives with her daughter and husband in the remarkable mountain town of Nelson, BC – where high ridgelines, clear fresh water, backyard berries, and the occasional curious bear are all part of the landscape she calls home.
