Dilruba Fatima Sharmin is a Specialist in Climate Adaptation and Resilience (International) at the Climate Risk Institute, with over eight years of experience in climate adaptation and water security-related interdisciplinary projects. Her work covers socio-economic aspects, cost-benefit analyses, vulnerability assessments, climate change and migration, and the impacts of climate change on (critical) infrastructure. Her passion for the environment and background in a climate-affected country have shaped her interest in advancing climate resilience and sustainability. She is also enthusiastic about developing effective adaptation measures and exploring climate finance mechanisms. Sharmin has worked on projects in both Canada and the Global South. She holds a Ph.D. in Social and Ecological Sustainability (Water) from the University of Waterloo, an MS in Environmental Science and Management from North South University, and an MBA and BBA in Finance from IIUC, Bangladesh.

During her free time, Sharmin enjoys community volunteering, exploring nature, and spending time with her cat.
