Mark has 25 years of experience working in water resource management, consulting, business development and executive leadership. His areas of focus are climate change, water resource management, agriculture, and pastoralism in the international development context.

Mark currently consults for the Indonesian-Australian Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT) programme supporting water utilities in the development of their climate action plans. From 2020 to 2023, Mark was the Executive Director of the FCDO Funded Supporting Pastoralism and Agriculture in Recurrent and Protracted Crises (SPARC) initiative. Prior to this, Mark was the Executive Vice President of Water, Climate and Environment at Cowater International (2016-2020) and led research programmes on climate change and water at the International Development Research Centre (2002-2015).

Mark is an urban planner by training with a master’s degree from McGill University and a specialization in water management. Mark recently founded In Exchange, a firm dedicated to supporting research and evidence-informed development projects
