Brook Tessema is an Analyst, Climate Adaptation and Resilience at CRI. As a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from York University, he has developed a solid understanding of the issue of Climate Change and the adaptation and mitigation efforts necessary to build resilient communities.

In addition to his academic background, he has worked as a Research Assistant with the Associate Planning Professor from his faculty to survey municipalities in Ontario and their efforts to address climate change through the land use planning framework. This experience has instilled in him the value of research and the importance of mainstreaming climate action into existing planning and policy. Throughout his experiences Brook has developed a passion for climate risk awareness and enjoys working to advance sustainable development initiatives that aim for positive change.

Brook enjoys spending time outdoors by exploring pockets of nature in cities as well as spending time with friends and family.
